I can't think of any 45s of novelty songs that I bought, except a Don Imus single back in the early 70s. I don't remember the title. I think the flip side was "O Billy Sol, Won't You Please Save Us All."
I was rather fond of Troglodyte, though, by the Jimmy Castor Group.
My father had purchased the 45, so I as I young boy inherited it. I am rather fond of novelty songs and no doubt they will appear here from time to time. One is due next Sunday. My step son did not know what a 45 was and was real impressed that I had a "45" at age 8. He likes guns.
